When I was in middle school, we got introduced to the subject, and that was the day I developed a strong interest in Bio-Technology. I became passionate about learning more and more about the human body, animals, plants, living things, and microorganisms. My imagination and curiosity always pushed me forward to get in-depth knowledge about this aspect of biology. The one thing that fueled my motivation was the practical experience of everything I was thought in theory like Diseases, Pollen Germination, Functioning of Human Organ, and many more.

My grades and academics were proof of my significant interest in the subject. I stood in the list of topers and the top three for four consecutive years throughout my middle school. When I started my last year in the, I started working on a project named ‘Solid state Fermenter’s Design and Fabrication for the Production of VAP (Value Added Product)’. This project was appreciated and recognized by the entire school. This project made its worth when it got sponsored by the National Science and Technology Development Board (NSTEDB) and Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Centre (IEDC). For the production of protease, I, along with my teammates, designed our solid-state bio-reactor. When we talk about solid and liquid state fermentation, we observe that both have different types of requirements. To scale up the process in Solid-state fermentation requires attention and many new technologies to be developed. In contrast, in liquid state fermentation, we need to work on a wide area of research.

I got admission to one of the most prestigious universities of India for Bio-Technology. In the entrance exam, I scored rank in the top 5% of the total number of the candidates who applied for it.

The academics of my undergraduate was also the same as the school, and I was again in the top rankers in the entire batch. I also received various training in the related fields. One of those training was for ‘Mammalian Cell Culture and Protein Purification’ at the biotechnology Institute. In my leisure time, I used to take part in various activities like paper and poster presentations. One of those was ‘Recent Advances in Food and Fermentation Technology’ conducted by UICT, North Maharashtra University, from SSBT COET Bambhori ‘Biotechnology Advances’ including ‘Entrepreneurship Development Camp’ which was conducted by Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Centre (IEDC). Along with these, I have been a part of seminars, webinars and workshops always to enhance my knowledge. I attended a workshop on fermentation. This workshop had so much to offer in terms of knowledge and was conducted by SSBT COET, Jalgaon. Once after completing my under graduation, I got an opportunity to join Biotech Labs Pvt. Ltd. as an intern located in Bangalore. Biotech Labs Pvt. Ltd. is a biopharmaceutical company. The company is well known for manufacturing insulin, plasma, API, MABs, vaccines and is also known for manufacturing industrial fermenters. In another internship program conducted through an exam by Biotech Consortium India Ltd., New Delhi, I was selected. This internship turned out to be a very fruitful one. Throughout the internship, I got the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in sterilization and cleaning of 40L fermenters, animal cell culture, microbial fermentation and downstream processing. This internship had a stipend of INR 10,000/- ($161.29) per month provided by the Govt. Of India.

Through graduate study, I am looking forward to establishing myself as the domain expert in Biotechnology by refining my knowledge and skillset. This will surely help me with a platform for my engagement in innovative and intensive research and development in India. After gaining knowledge and work experience at the bachelors’ level, I am all set to give new directions to my career goal as a food scientist/technologist at a commercial organization by pursuing my masters. Looking at the problems of this rapidly growing population in terms of food storage and food processing, especially in India, I want to work on making efficient and economic processes. I want to work on this because it is really sad despite excellent food production in agriculture, this problem has been a constant threat to the world and countries like India. Talking about different sectors, India has a great potential in food production, but there are few major issues, and lack of resources in terms of storage capacity and transport from the farmer to the end consumer, a very high margin of the produced food is spoiled, resulting in massive loss. In my opinion, this loss can be controlled by efficient and rapid processing technologies. This will ultimately result in feeding the millions of hungry people by efficient use of the produced food.

These are few major reasons behind my taking a significant interest in various technologies in the food processing industry. By pursuing my masters in your esteemed college, I will broaden my horizon of knowledge in the respective domain. In the Food Safety Microbiology and for the Reduction of Pathogens in Various Foods, Evolution of Interventions, the research interest of Professor ABC has increased my curiosity. This also tempted me to choose my masters in your prestigious university. The research facilities at your university are commendable. With expert faculty and excellent infrastructure, your university has made its name in the list of most prestigious universities globally for Biotechnology. With my dedication and sincerity combined with my theoretical knowledge and practical skills for achieving my goals, I am well equipped to stand on the expectations of your university. I am in a state of confidence that, if admitted, I would be a significant contributor to the university achievements and will give me a career also a lot of golden opportunities. I sincerely request you to consider my candidature in the applied course.
