My ultimate goal by studying abroad is to expand my horizon of knowledge and give my professional abilities a concrete strength. Unlike many aspiring architects, I don’t just want a full-time job and bound myself in a comfort zone; instead, I want to get my expertise in the respective domain. I want to polish my knowledge and architecture skills by becoming acquainted with various techniques, tools, methods, design styles, etc. I am looking forward to getting collaborations with instructors and students who have been excelling in the domain. By these innovative and creative minds, I will have an opportunity to expose myself to different ideas and styles. These practices in themselves will be valuable and fruitful from my career point of view. When we talk about architecture and country, both are the each-others mirror. Every country on this globe has a unique identification and heritage of its architecture. Once we start observing, we find diverse styles and characteristics in any building, decors, room. These observations can be for general appearance or the most minor details possible. An integrated and international society like your university has many things to learn and get inspired from, along with acquiring quality training.

In my, under graduation, I pursued BSc in architecture in one of the prestigious colleges of India. Throughout the program, I was exposed to the in-depth knowledge which built a strong foundation of learnings in design and architecture. In my leisure time, I didn’t spend my time on unproductive work. Instead I used to participate and attend several seminars where speakers used to talk about design and architecture. I have also been attending various supplementary courses, which are providing me a certification in different computer applications. Throughout my under graduation, I was an active student in sports; I have been a part of my university’s Basketball Team, Diving Team, Volleyball Team, and Cricket Team. I have represented my university in these sports at several sports events as a captain. I also had the responsibility to organize sports events and tournaments in these sports in my university. This helped me a lot in building my interpersonal skills.

In my bachelor’s, the course was structured where the majority of knowledge was given through theoretical knowledge. To gain practical knowledge and exposure, I started to work in Goodwell Design Company in 2006. Here I got several projects to work on where I enhanced and polished my practical knowledge. As a designer, I got opportunities to strengthen my understanding of architecture and interior designing while working and leading a team from several projects. The best project where I showcased my skills and knowledge was one where the client wanted to renovate his indoor design. With my creativity and teamwork, we were able to design the interior precisely according to the client’s needs and got appreciation from the company. The other such project was the design of a local cafe and more such projects where the the majority of the composition was mine, including Dine Inn and Great Stay (Hotels in my city). Talking about my current project, I am working on the interior design called Sea talk Resort.

These projects have helped me gather knowledge that I cannot pick while being in a classroom. Abilities to carry out plans, supervise, and look after the actual construction process can only be learned from in-field experiences. I have gained a whole new perspective of gaining in architecture and design with the help of my work experience. In this course of time, I have also realized that many ideas and theories I learned under graduation were somewhat impractical. To create a successful design, only a good idea isn’t enough; practicality also matters, which helps the procedure be carried out. To test a method is good or not, only one thing is enough: implementation. If the design gets implemented, then without a doubt, it is a good design. However, to recognize which design is effective and which is not even practical, experience with practical knowledge is required. My work has been rewarding for me and has also helped me acknowledge my shortcomings and the aspects where I need more training and learning. This is a significant reason to pursue a master’s from your prestigious university. I want to get my expertise into the domain to serve the community to the best of my potentials.

After gaining in-depth knowledge and experience on my theoretical and practical aspects in design and architecture, I have acknowledged that I am ready for the next step of my professional growth, pursuing a master’s degree in architecture. While surfing ,your university’s website, I got to know about the whole curriculum of the program, and it perfectly fits in with my educational goals. The diversity in the international student body and expert faculty will provide me cutting edge education. The program of masters in architecture from your esteemed university will help me tackle all the challenges I may face throughout my career. After completing my graduation, I will return to my country with all the skills and knowledge I will have gained from my hard work and with the help of your university. I will use this knowledge in my contribution to the domestic architecture industry of my country. I am looking forward to the consideration of my application.
