When you look back into my academics, I was the type of child who was always curious and eager to learn about new things and skills—talking about my schooling, which I completed from DAV Public school, Delhi. While completing my education, I was also able to top my school in the 10th and 12th grades. To pursue my bachelor’s, I got an opportunity to join one of the most prestigious colleges in India, Jaypee University of Information Technology. For my bachelor’s, I opted for computer science as my major. I always had good academic records, and it continued in my bachelor’s also. I scored 8.5 on a 10-point scale in bachelor with many certifications and awards for my participation in various events and competitions. Along with these achievements, I also had an opportunity to get three international publications in different fields with IEEE, Springer and IBS.
Extra-curriculums were one of my favourite things to do in my leisure time. I have been a part of various college-level activities. I have won many prizes in extra curriculum activities, including 2nd prize in college marathon, 1st prize in short film documentary making, which IEEE organized, in picturesque marketing I was at 2nd position, and many more such prizes and awards. Not only this, but I was also an active member of the college student union and finance and arts society.
Just because of my engineering degree, I can understand the methodology and science behind many phenomena and processes I experience in my day-to-day life. Moreover, the computer science program has given me an edge towards the software and knowledge for different technologies. Also, while being in the final year of my engineering, I got a place in one of the renowned MNCs, Accenture Services Private Limited, India. Here I got a chance to work on Customer Relationship Management Software. One of the important parts of my role in the company required understanding the basic functionality and the logic behind the interface between a client and their customers. Being a professional with good interpersonal skills and in-depth knowledge of the domain, I was also assigned to train the resources of the projects. Working with the core management team, I started likely the kind of work. In no time, I gained a huge interest in business management, and it became my field of interest. However, now I feel I am ready to get my expertise in the domain from a prestigious university in the UK.
With all the knowledge, experience and skills I have gained in the past, I feel confident that I can be a good fit for the University of Durham, UK.
