Sample SOP for MS in Robotics
Before humans could fly, it was a bold dream by Wright Brothers to bring this to reality. Before humans made their first step to the moon, it took a bold vision for several humans to make it possible. This is something called the ability to create and imagine beyond the impossible. In the true sense, this is a gift to humans, which also allows us to stand out in the evolution hierarchy. I believe myself to be a dreamer. A dreamer who desires to dream things that are in no way close to reality and then put in my every single cell towards it with all my strength, courage, and will to pursue them. Ever since I got conscience with the world, the one thing which always fascinated me was robots and machines. While pursuing my bachelor’s degree, the one thing that got me curious every time was robotics.
Tips on how to write an excellent SOP
This is the twenty-first century, the century of intelligent robots which will be able to think, reason, and behave like humans. A student like me who is so much involved in robotics can only dream about giving a more excellent and better tomorrow by tackling the hurdles and difficulties in the development of robotics and machines. This desire has motivated me to choose and make a career in a domain of which I have always been fond.
When it comes to my long-term vision of serving the domain of intelligent robotics, my position is to help by either of the means- by academia or the industry. In both places, I would be focusing more into independent research and development in order to create some new standards in the domain of intelligent robotics.
We cannot think of the development in robotics without understanding and advanced research in binding domains like Knowledge Management Systems, Inference Kernel, Automated Reasoning, and Autonomous Distributed Coordination Strategies. These are the fields that are considered to be the bottom line in the development of robotics. Keeping these things in my vision, I want to contribute with the best of my knowledge and experience gained throughout my bachelor’s and master’s. Moreover, the main focus would be to contribute to the “intelligence” of robotics. The two things that probably make the on-system implementation of coordination strategies and AI algorithms more problematic are limited memory availability and processing power. I want to serve and contribute to solving these problems by optimizing algorithms. Along with this, to make new age and modern bots smarter, cheaper, and practical, I want to contribute.
The long-term goal I have set for myself is well blended with the resources and skills I have gained through my fruitful past research, academic, and hands-on experiences. The goals I have set for myself are nurtured by my focus, determination, and passion.
Considering my overall performance in school, I was consistent by becoming every year topper; this was continued in my bachelor’s. When it comes to academics (Refer resume), I ensured I perform my best. Through all my academic knowledge and skills, I tried to discover existing real-life problems and come up with a practical solution for the same. I participated and won a different competition that was focused more on science and technology. One of those achievements was winning a National Level Science Exhibition held in Delhi, India. I designed an “Automated trolley system for charging cupola” from scratch, and it was well observed and liked by the judges.
While pursuing my bachelor’s, I started building my knowledge and experience in the domain of robotics. I made sure not to miss a single opportunity to attend many seminars, events, competitions, which related to robotics in any way. While attending these events, I also came across several experts who dominate in the robotics field. It was always wonderful to sit back and listen to their 2 cents on all the curious thoughts and questions regarding robotics. This was all because of my passion and love for robots. In school, I was fascinated with the idea of having a robot. When I started pursuing my bachelor’s, this fascination of just having a robot turned into the infatuation with working on them. This infatuation turned into my passion for robots and studying them in no time. It was my third year in my bachelor’s when I firmly believed that I had to gain expertise in robotics.
Why Robotics Institute, XYZ (University Name):
Talking about the programs, Robotics Institute, XYZ has the topnotch ranked dedicated programs in Robotics. The program and the faculty who will be delivering these programs are well qualified and experienced. Along with the program and faculty, the overall infrastructure is also world-class. However, the most exciting thing for me is the research in the Multi-Robo lab, Mobile Robot Lab, and Advanced Mechatronics Lab. XYZ is the place about which I am confident of gaining excellence in understanding the in-depth knowledge and experience with the challenges, opportunities, and future involvement with the intelligence of robots. This is the place that is going to help me become capable of contributing to the field of my interest. Looking forward to this biggest association of my life with XYZ to become better and to contribute towards making better.
