However, my reason to choose this domain to get my expertise in was much more than the fact of its development. For the past two years in my professional career, I have been contributing my service in the field of SAP ABAP. In this course of time, I managed to gain in-depth knowledge of it. In addition to this, I also experienced the importance of the domain in business and business applications. Due to these factors, I realized that now I am ready to gain expertise in MIS. The field fascinates me so much that I have developed a significant interest to learn more about MIS. I understand and keep up with all the advancements and developments of MIS to fit with the demand of the industry standards. These are a few essential things that encourage me to complete my master’s in Management Information System with this university, which is considered top-notch.
Talking about my academics in school, I have been one of those students who always loved to learn that could be implemented in real life. Considering this fact few of my most loved subjects were Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics. Fortunately, I got a chance to study these subjects as my major subjects in twelfth grade. What can you expect from a student who loved science and studies the same? Yes, I was highly active with every event and thing which involved science. In my twelfth grade, I developed simple latches and logic gates with essential circuit elements. This small project showed me the potential of the electrical and electronics stream. My high interest and dedication to these subjects helped me top in my school in both tenth and twelfth grade with 93.4% and 96.6%, respectively.
With decent grades in my twelfth and entrance exams, I got admission to one of the prestigious colleges of India, Delhi Technical University. By witnessing the diversity in Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering, I got excited to know more about the stream. The courses in my program like Signals and Systems, Microprocessors and Microcontrollers, Design and Process Control, Network Analysis and VLSI Technology helped me better look through the system implementation. Alongside this, the other courses like C, C++, JAVA, Data Structure, Operating System, Data Communication and Computer Network helped me acquire the knowledge and understand the concepts. These courses were directly connected to the implementation in day-to-day life, which was also one of the reasons for my high interest in these courses.
By completing my bachelor’s, I got an opportunity to work with TATA Consultancy Service Limited. With my good performance in the placements, I also got shortlisted for the top 10 students who could choose their preferred technology to learn, train, and work on. When the options were given to me, I opted for technologies like JAVA, Testing, SQL, and DBMS. I enhanced my skills in JAVA programming to the extent that I got shortlisted in a leading Gas and Oil company, British Gas, to get trained in the domain of SAP ABAP. I got a chance to work on SAP ABAP for more than two years. These two years were very productive and exposed me to the industrial demand and work in SAP ABAP. Reports I got a job on were Object-Oriented Reports, Interactive, Classical. Data Dictionary, Smart Forms, Module Pool, BDC, BAPI, and IDOC, are some of the dialogue interfaces I have worked on. Apart from this also worked with the enhancements, including SAP Performance Tuning and Trouble Shooting, User Exits and BADI. Talking about SAP, I have also worked on its other modules, including Sales and Distribution (SD) and Management Modules (MM). Based on my performance also received appreciation from the functional bodies as well as the clients.
After all of these personal achievements, my desire to learn more and more about the information system has led me to get academic expertise into the domain by pursuing a master’s in MIS. When I get a chance to pursue my master’s in my field of interest, then only all my acquired basic aptitude, skills, knowledge, and work experience will be fruitful. While surfing the university’s website, I realized a certainty by pursuing the program for my academics and a professional career. The decision became more concrete by acknowledging the faculty, which is highly experienced and qualified with the best infrastructure of your university.
After completing my masters in my field of interest, the ultimate goal is to serve with my expertise in the IT-related industry. After doing this for a couple of years and gaining some superior experience, I would launch a consulting company. While broadening my perspective with the expertise and knowledge acquired in my master’s would definitely help me carve a niche to contribute in the domain of MIS.
