I relate to this quote with my life in many ways. While I grew up, the drive and desire to become an immunology researcher became significant. My brother was diagnosed with Lyme Disease. The disease entered my brother’s life two years ago and has been undetected for a while. This disease also changed my brother’s lifestyle. This was the incident from where I developed a significant interest in immunology researcher. The delayed diagnosis also acknowledged to me the importance of early diagnosis. I intend to research and develop various solutions for the diagnosis, treatment, and recovery of such diseases related to immunology.
When I reached my post-matric, I had to decide on a subject I had to major in. I decided to take biology as this will be helping in my under graduation and higher studies. Biology was my top priority because of my interest in the field of immunology. I had decided into my intermediate to take my career into the field of immunology. I passed my intermediate with 93% and secured the second rank in my class.
After my schooling, I got admission to one of the prestigious colleges of India for BSc. This was a three-year bachelor’s degree. Apart from my academics, I also involved myself in research related to epidemiology throughout my undergraduate graduation. When I reached my last year of graduation, the COVID-19 pandemic had already hit the country. I got various opportunities to perform my research on Covid 19 and multiple opportunities to work with the experts. Currently, I am working on research that is linked with the COVID-19 pandemic. Using agent-based models in a small classroom-based setting, I am tracking the spread of COVID-19. This is done by focusing on the impact of sanitation frequency and focusing on the microbiology of the virus.
During this research, I came to know that immunology is the next big thing in medical sciences. After seeing the profound impact, it had on my brother; I truly believe that understanding the relationship between the immune processes is vital. In studying different aspects of epidemiology for various patient populations and other circumstances, this research and the resultant model further be extended to more extensive settings.
In the development of a better contribution and understanding of immunology, my research interest is firmly rooted. By conducting research, I want to understand the domain of immunology and contribute to community health. Along with this, it can also provide a fundamental and foundational approach for the purpose.
Through this research work, I have realized that researchers in the field of immunology have a massive gap in their skills required for the purpose. Also, I have figured out three goals for the development. First, I want to enhance my knowledge and understanding regarding scientific research into the domain of immunology. To develop evidence-based and interventions, this scientific research is the ideal approach. Also, I have more profound knowledge and understanding of the respective concepts. Second, to give proper guidance and define foundations in my approach to immunology, I shall develop a personal philosophy of science. My understanding of the nature of concepts in immunology can become profound after a personal philosophy of science. Also, I have to develop significant experience in laboratory settings as it is essential for the research process in immunology.
After the completion of my undergraduate degree, I had to choose a college for my graduate study. After an intense research session, I came across your prestigious university. With excellent infrastructure and commendable laboratory conditions, the university suits my requirements. There are very few universities in the globe which are so dedicated to the field of immunology. The student diversity of your esteemed university has attracted me a lot. I truly believe that pursuing a graduate degree from your respected university will indeed contribute to my research and development career.
